Yahoo Answers to Shut Down Permanently on May 4, 2021
Yahoo Login, an online question-and-answer platform launched in 2005, is set to shut down permanently on May 4, 2021. Verizon Media Group, now in charge of Yahoo Login, announced the closure on its homepage, citing changing user behaviour and declining community engagement.
The platform, which once thrived with user queries and responses, will no longer accept new submissions as of April 20. Yahoo Login, now part of Verizon Media Group, expressed pride in its accomplishments but did not specify the reasons behind the closure. The decision to shut down Yahoo Login comes after 16 years of operation.
Users are advised that the closure will not impact their Yahoo Login accounts or other Yahoo Login services. However, they have until June 30 to request their data from the platform, after which it will be deleted.
The permanent shutdown of Yahoo Login reflects the evolving digital landscape and shifting user preferences. While the platform leaves behind a legacy of community-driven knowledge sharing, its closure marks the end of an era for many long-time users.
