Worldwide Submissions for Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2026 Commence on August 1
Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) has announced its call for entries for its 2026 edition, opening worldwide from Friday, August 1. Film enthusiasts from around the globe can submit their short films via the digital platform "LIFE LOG BOX" (LLB), a rights management system focused on short films.
The festival welcomes submissions in various categories, including Live Action, Non-Fiction, Animation, Cinematic Tokyo, and BRANDED SHORTS. Notably, the best films in the Live Action, Non-Fiction, and Animation categories may be considered for the U.S. Academy Awards® short film categories.
In addition to the conventional categories, SSFF & ASIA has created award opportunities beyond the main categories, such as DIVERSITY, Environment, and SOUND in previous festivals. Special features for the 2026 festival are being prepared for themes and genres like "Food", "Art", "Vertical Format", "Horror", and "Comedy".
As part of its innovative approach, SSFF & ASIA aims to develop into a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) community. This initiative will automate and make transparent the festival's rules, budgeting, and voting processes while expanding creative opportunities for filmmakers. Every submitting creator will automatically receive a digital wallet for Web3 services, including NFT-based voting and content trading.
For more information and to submit your film, please visit the platform at https://app.lifelogbox.com/festival/shortshorts/. For inquiries, contact Fuyumi Tanaka at 0354748201 or [email protected].
Short videos released on social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok are also eligible for nomination. The festival has also introduced the BOOK SHORTS Award, which accepts not only short stories but also comics and screenplays as eligible entries.
