Wingcopter & ZAL Team Up for Green Hydrogen in Urban Air Mobility

Wingcopter, a German drone manufacturer, has teamed up with ZAL GmbH to promote green hydrogen as a sustainable energy source for Urban Air Mobility. The collaboration aims to create eco-friendly and efficient air transport solutions.

Wingcopter has engineered a unique drone that merges swivelling rotors with wings, enhancing flight efficiency and robustness. This innovative design has already proven successful in delivering medical supplies to remote regions.

The partnership with ZAL, a Hamburg-based aerospace research centre, focuses on developing a technical solution to power Wingcopter drones using green hydrogen. This emission-free drive is expected to significantly boost the drones' flight range, enabling them to reach even more distant targets. ZAL, committed to sustainable aviation, is dedicated to bringing hydrogen into the air and fostering innovative solutions.

Wingcopter and ZAL's collaboration seeks to increase the flight duration of Wingcopter drones while retaining their distinctive flight capabilities. By harnessing the power of green hydrogen, they aim to create a more sustainable future for Urban Air Mobility, with the potential to serve even the most remote locations.
