Volkswagen Unveils AI-Powered Cerence Chat Pro at CES 2024
Volkswagen has unveiled its new AI-powered in-vehicle voice assistant, Cerence Chat Pro, on the latest ID.7 electric sedan at CES 2024. This marks a significant step in the company's commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into its vehicles.
The AI lab behind this innovation, Volkswagen Group's AI Lab, is dedicated to developing AI-supported automated and autonomous driving technologies. It will create AI-powered digital products, including infotainment and navigation applications, and build a digital ecosystem for Volkswagen.
The lab's board comprises AI experts from key Volkswagen Group brands, including Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche. They will work together to offer customers genuine added value with AI and link external digital ecosystems with the vehicle for an enhanced user experience.
Volkswagen aims to collaborate with tech companies in China, Europe, and North America to develop and launch new vehicle technology swiftly. The AI lab will also focus on high-performance speech recognition, electric vehicle charging technology, vehicle-to-home connectivity, and AI-based predictive maintenance schedules.
Cerence Chat Pro, powered by ChatGPT technology, will become standard on many Volkswagen models starting in the second quarter of 2024.
