Vietnam, Japan Boost Innovation Cooperation with MoU

Vietnam and Japan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen their cooperation in innovation and startups. This comes as part of their extensive strategic partnership, with a focus on the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) and the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

During his visit, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung toured HachiX Company, a Vietnamese startup in Nagoya specialising in AI, embedded systems, and the Internet of Things. He also visited the Station AI Nagoya Innovation Centre, aiming to foster the growth of startups in both countries.

The MoU, signed between Vietnam and Japan, aims to develop startups and innovative companies. This aligns with Vietnam's strategic focus on semiconductor chips as a key technology for the country's future. The Vietnamese government is committed to supporting its scientists in developing core technologies for national progress.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung attended the 22nd Science and Technology in Society Forum (STS Forum) in Japan, where he met with over 1,500 delegates from around the world, including 14 Nobel laureates and the Emperor and Empress of Japan. This high-level engagement reflects the depth of the Vietnam-Japan partnership.

With the signing of the MoU, Vietnam and Japan have reinforced their commitment to promoting innovation and startup development. This cooperation, within the broader context of their strategic partnership, is expected to drive progress in areas such as the Asia Zero Emission Community and the Just Energy Transition Partnership.
