"VEV Chooses Techniche EV to Enhance Charger Availability and Aid Service Provision"

In a strategic move to enhance the reliability and uptime of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, VEV, an e-fleet solutions provider backed by Vitol, has partnered with Techniche. This collaboration aims to optimize the productivity and profitability of EV charging operations, with a particular focus on the e-fleet charging market.

Techniche EV, a product of Techniche, automates maintenance management for EV charging assets and infrastructure. The integration of Techniche EV with VEV's VEV-IQ platform enables VEV to triage faults and allocate engineers to respond to issues not solved by a remote reset. This automated system is expected to speed up VEV's response times by detecting and triaging over 85% of charger issues.

The partnership seeks to minimize charger outages and maximize the time chargers are functional, thereby increasing charger availability. This, in turn, supports higher fleet availability and productivity. Techniche EV uses the data to automate work order creation, enabling VEV to improve charger availability and ensure the charging infrastructure is more reliable and operational for longer periods.

The collaboration directly targets the challenges of keeping electric fleets operational and fully charged, which are critical factors in accelerating the adoption and operational efficiency of e-fleets. Techniche aims to support VEV in increasing fleet charging reliability and uptime for businesses across the UK.

Brad Sandys, Head of Business Development EMEA at Techniche, welcomed VEV as a Techniche EV customer and the first dedicated fleet solutions customer. Mike Brown, VP of Product at VEV, emphasized the importance of maximizing fleet uptime for operational optimization. He also highlighted that Techniche EV's ability to alter workflows to reflect customers' different SLAs is a significant consideration for VEV.

The VEV-IQ platform allows customers to manage their fleets, charging, and energy infrastructure through a single platform. This integration with Techniche EV further enhances the platform's capabilities, enabling VEV to meet and report on the rigorous service level requirements set by its end-customers.

In summary, the VEV-Techniche partnership leverages technology to streamline charger maintenance, thereby boosting charger uptime and supporting continuous fleet operation in the growing electric mobility market. This collaboration is expected to significantly improve charger availability and fleet uptime in the e-fleet solutions sector, contributing to the wider adoption and operational efficiency of e-fleets.
