Universal Audio's First Rackmount Volt Interface, Volt 876, Coming in October 2025
Universal Audio is set to release its first rackmount interface in the Volt series, the Volt 876 USB Recording Studio, in October 2025. Priced higher than previous Volt models, this new addition offers a comprehensive range of features for complex recording scenarios.
The Volt 876 comes packed with a variety of plug-ins and virtual instruments, including the newly released Showtime '64 Tube Amp, Teletronix LA‐2A and UA 1176 compressors, Pultec EQs, and the PolyMAX Synth. It boasts a 24-in / 28-out USB audio interface with 32-bit / 192 kHz audio conversion.
Designed for more complex recording setups, the Volt 876 offers 16-in / 16-out ADAT connectivity, allowing for digital expansion and linking of up to three interfaces. It can accommodate multiple players at once, providing real-time direct monitoring with dedicated front panel controls and two stereo low-latency cue mixes. Additionally, it has a standalone ADAT mode that can connect the Volt 876 to third-party interfaces or Apollo over ADAT as an 8 x 8 I/O preamp expander.
The Volt 876 is expected to be available in mid-October 2025 and is currently available for pre-order at $999 U.S. With its extensive features and high-quality audio conversion, it is poised to be a valuable addition to any recording studio, catering to more advanced recording needs.
