Uncovering Gold: Delving into New Zealand's Potential Hidden Treasure

In the heart of New Zealand's renowned Otago Schist Belt, New Age Exploration (NAE) is making significant strides in its gold exploration activities. The company, led by Chairman Alan Broome AM, a highly respected figure in the Australian mining industry, is focusing on advancing its Lammerlaw and Otago Pioneer Quartz projects.

NAE recently completed a drilling program at the Lammerlaw project, confirming early-stage discoveries. The company plans to move into subsequent stages of drilling and target definition to further advance these assets. The projects are strategically located in a geological corridor that hosts significant gold deposits, including OceanaGold’s 5 million ounce Macraes deposit and Santana Minerals’ growing Rise & Shine system.

The local technical team at NAE is headed by Kerry Gordon, a New Zealand-based geologist with extensive experience in Otago-style gold systems, and James Pope, a structural geologist with a deep understanding of the region's mineralization controls. This experienced team is employing modern, technology-led exploration techniques such as geophysics, geochemistry, and passive seismic surveys to target structurally controlled gold systems with the potential for scale.

NAE is seeking high-resolution geophysical anomalies, soil or rock chip assays detecting gold pathfinders, drill intercepts with visible sulfide mineralization or quartz vein textures, and permit expansion and land consolidation. The company has secured EP 61110 (Waipori) to expand control along the same structural corridor at Lammerlaw.

The Otago project, part of NAE's broader portfolio, hosts a 6-kilometer gold-bearing shear zone and surface rock-chip grades exceeding 1.4 grams per tonne gold. The project lies within the Otago Schist Belt, a region widely regarded as one of New Zealand's most underexplored playgrounds for orogenic gold.

NAE has also secured the Marlborough project, encompassing 499 square kilometers within the Marlborough Schist Belt, previously underexplored. The company's strategy, driven by its world-class leadership teams, positions it as a compelling choice for investors seeking discovery-stage exposure with substantial upside.

New Zealand's reputation as a politically stable, low-risk jurisdiction makes it a compelling place for mineral exploration. The country has a rich mining history dating back to the 19th century, with gold rushes in Otago and the Coromandel regions. However, modern exploration activities in Central Otago have raised concerns among local community and environmental groups about mining impacts, indicating potential social and regulatory challenges that could influence future project developments in the area.

Despite these challenges, NAE appears focused on continuing its exploration progress amid this complex landscape. The company has maintained a strong cash position, recently raising AU$1.96 million to fund ongoing drilling and exploration activities, signaling its commitment to advancing its projects in Central Otago.

As companies like Rua Gold, Santana Minerals, and New Age Exploration lead the charge in modern exploration activities in New Zealand, the Otago Schist Belt remains a promising area for significant gold discoveries. With its strategic focus, advanced exploration techniques, and strong financial position, NAE is well-positioned to unlock these potential riches.
