Toughening Up: ARB Previews Comprehensive Off-Road Accessory Package for Kia's New Pickup Truck
The upcoming Kia Tasman ute is generating a buzz in the automotive industry, with aftermarket companies already unveiling a series of off-road accessories for the vehicle before its launch in New Zealand.
One such company is ARB, an Aussie 4x4 outfitter, which has revealed a range of off-road accessories for the Tasman. These include two styles of off-road bumpers, both equipped with skid plates and integrated recovery points. Additionally, ARB may offer lift kits or similar upgrades for the Tasman, as it does for many other popular utes.
The ARB upgrades also include provision for extra lighting, such as LED units on the roof and grille, and beadlock wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber.
Kia, on the other hand, is planning to release hybrid and electric variants of the Tasman alongside the existing Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) model. The company has also announced that it will offer a catalogue of factory-backed accessories for the Tasman, including sports bars, snorkels, off-road bumpers, and canopy options.
One setup for the Tasman shows a custom bed with twin spare wheels, a fold-out ladder, and a secondary roof rack, transforming the back end into a mobile base camp. The Tasman bed may also be customizable with bed covers.
Moreover, the Tasman may have a roof rack available as an accessory, and additional practical additions such as a roof rack, bed cover, and various tray and canopy configurations. The vehicle may also have a lifted ride height as a result of ARB upgrades, although specific suspension tweaks are not confirmed.
Intriguingly, Kia is considering a performance-inspired Tasman WKNDR variant, potentially a rival to the Ford Ranger Raptor.
As of now, there is no information about any company announcing off-road accessories for the Kia Tasman, nor about the availability of hybrid or electric versions of the Tasman. However, the excitement surrounding the Tasman is palpable, with many eagerly awaiting its launch.
