Tokusatsu action series, Radiant Black, ventures into audiobook format.

Amplifying the Colorful Universe of 'Radiant Black': A New Audiobook Adaptation

Since its inception in 2021, Kyle Higgins and Marcelo Costa's blockbuster comic series, Radiant Black, has risen to prominence in the annals of Image Comics. As the Massive-Verse expands, it's only natural to wonder what's in store for the series that kickstarted this cosmic saga. Courting new fans has never been easier—transform creatively!

At the C2E2 Massive-Verse panel, Higgins unveiled a tantalizing revelation: the initial six issues of Radiant Black are being reimagined for audiobook format. As the mastermind behind the project, Higgins will script and direct the first volume, with Image Comics and Higgins' Black Market Collective imprint collaborating to produce a series of adaptations.

A dash of nostalgia for the 90s enthusiasts: the duo's primary characters, Nathan Burnett and Marshall Ward, are being voiced by familiar faces from Boy Meets World—Rider Strong and Will Friedle, respectively. You may recall that Friedle lent his vocal talents to Marshall in a 2022 Radiant Black short film, and he couldn't be more enthused to reprise the role again. Freshly on board, Strong expressed delight at joining the audiobook, especially since it promises to delve deep into Nathan and Marshall's journey.

In the aforementioned video, the actors seem perpetually at odds over who truly embodies Radiant Black, fueling the flame of this underlying tension that spans two timelines in the comics. Higgins shared his enthusiasm for venturing into new mediums, revealing a shared passion for immersing readers in the rich tapestry of the Radiant Black universe.

With a host of voice actors set to join Strong, Higgins is eager to enthrall audiences with the sonic, immersive experience that only an audiobook can provide. Stay tuned for the announcement of the remaining cast members!

Black Market hints that the Radiant Black: Volume One audiobook is slated for release this fall.
