Seal's Favourite Pedals and Equipment: A Blend of Analogue and Digital

In a recent interview with Origin Effects and on his social media platforms, British singer-songwriter Seal has revealed his preferred guitar pedals and equipment. The artist, known for hits like "Crazy" and his crooning voice, is a fan of both analogue and digital tools, emphasizing the importance of tactile control during the creative process.

At the heart of Seal's setup is the Neural DSP Quad Cortex, a digital modeler that allows him to access a wide range of tones. He also relies on the Fender Tone Master Pro, a digital multi-effects processor, for its versatility. However, Seal prefers interacting with physical analogue pedals during the songwriting process, finding it more intuitive than navigating through digital menus.

Among his favourite analogue pedals, Seal includes the Lighthouse Amplitude Modulating Amplifier by Bennett Custom Audio, a boutique pedal. He has also mentioned plans to build a pedalboard around Browne Amplification soon.

Currently, Seal's pedalboard features the Keeley Electronics HALO Andy Timmons Dual Echo, offering dual delay effects, and the Eventide and CopperSound Pedals, which include the TriceraChorus, a chorus pedal, the Foxcatcher Overdrive and Boost, an overdrive and boost pedal, respectively.

For tuning, Seal uses the Walrus Audio's Canvas Tuner. The tuner's sleek design and easy-to-read display make it a perfect addition to his pedalboard.

Seal has also expressed admiration for Simon and Robert's work at Kingsley and Keeley respectively. He recommends the Kingsley Minstrel V3 pedal, a tube overdrive pedal with a single 12AX7 tube running at high voltage and a "More" footswitch for higher-gain mode. He has not mentioned any specific pedals from Neunaber Audio or Browne Amplification in this context.

The Neunaber Audio Illumine Reverb is another pedal that Seal appreciates, offering 20 different reverbs, 50 presets, MIDI, and expression control. This versatile reverb pedal adds depth and ambience to his music.

Seal's love for guitar playing is evident in his music, and he recently posted about his pedalboard on social media, showcasing his blend of analogue and digital equipment. He also recommends the Neunaber Audio Illumine Reverb, the Keeley Electronics HALO Andy Timmons Dual Echo, and the Kingsley Minstrel V3 pedals to other musicians seeking to expand their sonic palette.

Lastly, the Imperial All-Tube Preamp pedal, which replicates Tone King's MKII amp's tones, is a new addition to Seal's collection, fresh out of the gate. This pedal will undoubtedly add another layer of warmth and character to his music.
