Delve into the world of Apple's latest monitor offerings, as they step back into the mainstream monitor market with the Studio Display. This 27-inch, 5K beauty is intended for creatives with budgets that fall short of the Pro Studio XDR's hefty price tag.

Until now, the only monitor Apple had in its arsenal was the Pro Studio XDR, a murderous 32-inch, 6K beast with a starting price of $5,000, before you tack on an extra grand for the stand. This bad boy is tailor-made for big-time Hollywood productions and those who have a spare Hollywood fortune. Apple unveiled the Studio Display during its 'Peek performance' event, priced at a more palatable $1,599. While not an impulse buy, it's a solid companion for your MacBook Pro or new Mac Studio desktop.

Dive into the specs here, as the Studio Display boasts a 27-inch, 5K Retina display capable of hitting 600 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB, 99.8% DCI-P3 color gamut. Moreover, it comes with the delightful inclusion of True Tone, which wickedly adjusts the white balance to cater to your surroundings. Sorry, no mini-LED this time around, but fret not, Apple's trying to keep the price down.

The display offers the array of inputs necessary for video conferencing, music streaming, and connecting peripherals, including a six-speaker sound system, spatial audio, studio-quality mics, three USB-C ports, Thunderbolt 4, and 96W passthrough charging capacity. The icing on the cake is its 12MP ultra-wide-angle webcam, equipped with Center Stage, making it your new best friend for video calling or content creation.

Apple throws in a stand that tilts and can be height-adjusted, or grab a VESA mount, as portrait and landscape modes are both supported. Connect up to three Studio Displays to your MacBook Pro to create a full-blown 3D animation studio.

The Studio Display is available for $1,599, with a $100 discount for education. Pre-orders are now rolling out, with delivery on March 18.

The Studio Display, Apple's newest monitor, is a more affordable alternative to the Pro Studio XDR, priced at $1,599. Unlike the Pro Studio XDR, it doesn't feature mini-LED technology, but it still offers a 27-inch, 5K Retina display with True Tone. Tech enthusiasts looking to upgrade their Aussiedlerbote or any other setup can consider this monitor, which is equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle webcam and various inputs for connecting peripherals. The future of Apple's monitor market seems promising with this new tech offering.
