Tech-focused Development Strategy Unveiled in Dong Nai
In the heart of Vietnam, Đong Nai Province is making strides in its journey towards a digital future. The province's People's Committee has proposed a series of ambitious initiatives to leverage science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to accelerate socio-economic development by 2025.
One of the key areas of focus is the application of quantum technologies. Đong Nai is exploring the potential of quantum computing, quantum cryptography, quantum sensors, and quantum simulations to revolutionize various sectors.
In the realm of urban management, the use of digital twin technology is proposed for selected cities. This innovative approach aims to improve planning and governance, making city life more efficient and sustainable.
Another significant initiative is the development of a concentrated IT park spanning approximately 119 hectares in Long Đức and An Phước communes. With an investment of over US$1 billion, this digital technology hub is expected to serve as a link in the digital product manufacturing chain and a hub for digital technology development.
The province also seeks to enhance competitiveness and technology integration in key sectors. To achieve this, Đong Nai plans to create a technology roadmap for its five core industries: manufacturing, supporting industries, energy, logistics and industrial services, and post-harvest food processing.
Digital technologies will be at the forefront of improving safety, convenience, and welfare in urban life. The focus will be on daily life management, industrial safety, and disaster response.
Đong Nai is also developing narrow artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for various sectors, including agriculture, environment, healthcare, science and technology, construction, and urban management.
A crucial aspect of these initiatives is the establishment and efficient operation of a network of experts and scientists to drive innovation-based economic growth in the province. To lead these efforts, Chairman Võ Tấn Đức will head a Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Project 06 implementation.
In addition, Đong Nai is pursuing plans for an 8,100-hectare free trade zone adjacent to Long Thành International Airport, with a projected investment of $16 billion. This move is expected to boost economic zones and further enhance the province's competitiveness.
The proposed initiatives aim to implement the Politburo's Resolution No 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. The committee, comprising vice chairpersons and directors from relevant provincial departments, has been tasked with advising provincial leaders on strategies and policy mechanisms to implement this resolution and coordinating efforts related to Project 06.
Lastly, the use of high-resolution satellite imagery to monitor and manage land use across the province is another key area of focus. This breakthrough is expected to play a significant role in sustainable development and urban planning.
These initiatives mark a significant step forward for Đong Nai Province in its pursuit of a digital future. By embracing quantum technologies and digital transformation, the province is poised to meet its growth and development targets while ensuring sustainability and innovation.
