Tata Power Unveils Future-Ready EV Charging Hub at Mumbai Airport
Tata Power, in collaboration with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, has established a significant milestone in India's mission to grow widespread, fast, and reliable charging infrastructure with the inauguration of the TATA.ev MegaCharger-Hub. The 16-bay charging hub, strategically located at the Mumbai airport, is a small start in the city's vast transport landscape.
The new charging hub, powered entirely by renewable energy, is more than just a utility. It's a statement about visibility as well, setting a trend for future car charging infrastructure. Airports often serve as a city's showcase, making the airport location significant for the new charging hub.
The charging hub boasts eight fast DC chargers, each with an output of 120 kW, capable of charging 16 cars simultaneously. This cutting-edge technology aims to set a benchmark for future-ready EV infrastructure.
Tata Power, as the CEO and MD of the new charging hub, is committed to this vision. With over 5,500 charging points nationwide and more than a thousand in Mumbai alone, Tata Power is well-positioned to lead the charge towards a greener future.

The charging hub is open to all EVs, but Tata.ev owners receive discounted rates and priority access. This partnership aims to further empower EV owners across India. In a separate news, Tata Motors has passed GST cut benefits and reduced prices by up to ₹1.55 lakhs, making electric vehicles more affordable and accessible for the masses. This move is in line with Tata's ambition to have 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030.
