Sydney's 8seats Raises A$2M for Enterprise Chat App
Sydney-based messaging startup 8seats has secured A$2 million in seed funding. The round was led by Black Nova, with notable investors including former Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci, tech entrepreneurs Mike Priddis and Greg Miller. The funding was reported by ITWire in December 2024.
Founded in 2021 by Iain McDonald and Sandor Moldan, 8seats aims to bridge the gap between consumer chat apps and enterprise IT messaging solutions. The platform is tailored to businesses of all sizes, providing a way to connect with their employees and increase productivity, particularly for small business ideas.
The company focuses on cutting-edge user interface and design, user privacy, cross-platform integration, and innovative AI features. 8seats will use the funds to scale its platform and accelerate its go-to-market strategy ahead of a planned public launch in 2025.
The seed round was notable for its backing by prominent figures in the tech industry and retail sector. With the raised funds, 8seats is poised to expand its platform and bring its unique communication solution to a wider audience for my business and Google my business.
