Teenage Engineering has introduced an exciting new product to its lineup – the EP-1320 Medieval Sampler. This medieval-themed electronic instrument, priced at $299, is a spin-off of the K.O. II EP-133 sampler, which was itself inspired by the PO-33 KO! Pocket Operator.

The EP-1320 Medieval Sampler features a bank of medieval-themed sounds, such as farm animals, witches, rowdy peasants, and even a dragon. It offers 7 built-in pocus and 12 punch-in pocus, providing a wide range of creative possibilities.

This compact device, measuring 240 x 176 x 16 mm (9.5 x 7 x 0.7 in.), features 6 stereo or 12 mono voices, a built-in mic and speaker, and a variety of punch-in effects. Its effects include Dungeon Echo, Bardic Ensemble, Dimension Expander, Torture Chamber Reverb, and Medieval Punch-in Pocus.

The EP-1320 Medieval Sampler also includes multi-sampled instruments like the hurdy gurdy, gittern, citole, and bowed harp. It has 128MB memory, including 96MB ROM sounds and 32MB user sample memory. The device is equipped with pressure-sensitive keys and a multi-functional fader.

The EP-1320 Medieval Sampler can be powered by 4x AAA batteries or via USB-C. It also has 1x stereo in/out, sync in/out, MIDI in/out, and USB-C for connectivity. The device is decorated with gold and features Latin labelling in a Dark Ages font.

In an exciting offer, Teenage Engineering is giving away a free EP-1320 Medieval Sampler to customers who spend over $999 in their online store. However, a quick search revealed no results for any seller offering the sampler for free with a minimum purchase of $999 in October 2021.

The EP-1320 Medieval Sampler was released in August last year, making it a relatively new addition to Teenage Engineering's portfolio, which also includes the OP-XY synth and TX-6 mixer – both pricier products. This unique device is sure to appeal to musicians and sound designers with a penchant for the medieval era.
