**SIU Enhances Campus with Watchfire Digital Displays and Scoreboards**

Southern Illinois University (SIU) has embarked on a campus-wide upgrade, introducing state-of-the-art digital video displays and scoreboards from Watchfire. The new installations, praised by Tim Leonard, the athletic director at SIU, for Watchfire's exceptional customer service and ability to cater to the university's unique requirements, are transforming the spectator experience across various sports and events.

The new displays, such as the one at Davies Gym featuring a fixed-digit scoreboard, boast high-resolution, full-color LED screens that offer crystal-clear visibility of swimmer stats, lane assignments, race details, and real-time results. They also provide dynamic content delivery, enhancing live game coverage for sports like baseball, volleyball, and swimming and diving.

The Richard "Itchy" Jones Stadium now features a 17x37-foot video board, introducing video capabilities to the baseball diamond for the first time. Meanwhile, the Dr. Edward J. Shea Natatorium has been upgraded with a 12x23-foot display, engineered to withstand the high-humidity environment of the pool.

The Banterra Center, home to many SIU events, now showcases a four-sided center-hung display with a 3.9mm pixel pitch, each side measuring 10x6 feet, along with top and bottom LED rings and two 8x15-foot wall displays. This upgrade has significantly elevated the gameday atmosphere for baseball and volleyball, offering an immersive experience for fans.

Leonard commends Watchfire's team for their creativity, expertise, and support, making the installation process a pleasurable experience that exceeded SIU's expectations. The new displays, integrated seamlessly across all venues, offer real-time game data, player profiles, and highlight videos, serving as a platform for promoting university initiatives and community events.

With these upgrades, SIU has doubled its video output in the basketball arena, aiming to provide a more engaging and informative experience for students, faculty, visitors, and alumni. The new displays have undoubtedly strengthened SIU's brand presence and competitive positioning in the world of athletics, while also contributing to a modernized and aesthetically pleasing campus environment.
