In the heart of Bispingen, HM-Werke, a family-owned business specializing in window and door elements, has made a significant investment. Around six million euros have been poured into a new hall, designed for window construction with masonry, as part of the company's strategic growth plan.

The new hall, prepared in a modular form according to the Lego principle, promises to streamline construction site work. This investment, however, is not directly related to the carport systems with photovoltaics, another innovative concept under development by HM-Werke.

The carport systems with photovoltaics aim to generate energy, protect cars from heat, and double the use of already sealed areas. The idea has already found favour with the state of Lower Saxony, and Volker Meyer, the head of the family business, plans to present it to the economic committee of the state parliament soon.

Meyer sees potential in supermarkets and municipal utilities as customers for these systems, with the electricity generated from these areas being of interest for commercial customers for self-consumption or feeding into the public grid.

Italy has already equipped itself with similar parking facilities to protect cars from sunlight, while Munster's municipal utilities have already installed something similar to the carport systems with photovoltaics.

The philosophy of the family business is not focused on immediate profit, but on long-term sustainability and growth. In line with this, HM-Werke is also developing soundproof barriers for heat pumps to reduce noise emissions, another step towards creating a quieter and more sustainable future.

The construction industry is currently facing a crisis, with order cancellations of 50% for the Volker Meyer family business. Despite this, Volker Meyer remains optimistic, aiming to compensate by gaining 15 to 20 million euros through new customers next year.

The eighth generation of the family that has been leading the company for seven generations has been secured with Moritz Meyer at the helm.
