Skynopy Lands €75K ESA Deal to Boost Satellite Data Rates
French ground station startup Skynopy has secured a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA). The deal, worth 75,000 euros ($89,000), involves integrating advanced communication technologies to enhance satellite performance.
Skynopy will work on integrating Variable Coding and Modulation (VCM) and Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) technology. These innovations allow satellites to adjust signal strength and efficiency in response to changing conditions.
The project is part of ESA's Programme for Userbase Enhancement (PUSH). Skynopy aims to double satellite data download rates through this technology. Next month, Skynopy will begin integrating its software with three major satellite operators - HISPASAT, EUTELSAT, and SES - through a competitive process.
Skynopy's ESA contract, worth 75,000 euros, focuses on enhancing satellite communication efficiency. The company will integrate VCM and ACM technology with three leading satellite operators, aiming to significantly boost data download rates.
