SAFRA's First Hydrogen Conversion Kit Set for Official Approval Imminently
SAFRA's H2-PACK® Hydrogen Retrofit Kit Approval Imminent
In a significant step towards a greener future, SAFRA, a pioneer in hydrogen technology with over six decades of experience in passenger transport equipment, is on the brink of approval for its groundbreaking H2-PACK® hydrogen retrofit kit. The historic approval is expected on January 26, 2023.
The H2-PACK® kit, supported by ADEME, the French Agency for Ecological Transition, is a safe, processed industrial solution designed to decarbonate customers' fleets. It allows the transformation of a diesel coach into a Zero Emission vehicle running on hydrogen gas.
SAFRA's VHYSION® tool, dedicated to the technical monitoring of its hydrogen urban range, is already operational for the H2-PACK® kit. Operational safety studies have been carried out during the design phase, and the certification process includes a vehicle rollover test as part of the final validation stages. Performing all safety tests, including passenger safety, is a guarantee of quality and safety for SAFRA's customers.
SAFRA is offering this hydrogen retrofit solution for a well-known vehicle and is currently working on 15 vehicles in its workshops. The company is also in discussions for the implementation of a technical and after-sales partner network to accelerate the deployment of the solution. H2-PACK® can be installed in SAFRA's factory or by SAFRA-certified workshops to respond quickly to large demand.
SAFRA is fully integrated into the hydrogen ecosystem and combines its hydrogen powertrain and connected vehicles expertise with its renovation sector know-how for the retrofit kit. The TÜV Süd, a renowned authority, is responsible for the certification of SAFRA's first hydrogen conversion kit, which is about to be approved.
The hydrogen retrofit kit manufactured by SAFRA, branded as H2-PACK®, is at the cutting edge of current technology. SAFRA is the only company to offer a H2 retrofit kit tailored to the Mercedes Intouro coach, the bestseller of the European coach market.
This approval marks a significant milestone in SAFRA's journey towards a sustainable future. With its extensive experience in hydrogen technology and its commitment to safety, SAFRA is poised to lead the way in hydrogen retrofit solutions for the transportation industry.
