Restarts NBA Africa's Triple-Double Accelerator to Support African Innovations in Sports Technology

The NBA Africa Triple-Double Accelerator 2025 is back, this time with a stronger lineup of partners and a renewed focus on supporting early-stage African startups in the sports and creative sectors.

This year's accelerator is backed by ServiceNow, an enterprise AI platform, and is set to help African startups grow and become investment-ready. The program, which targets startups headquartered in Africa that are less than two years old, offers mentorship, funding, and capacity building to those with a tech-enabled solution, clear market value, and a proof-of-concept prototype.

Startups can apply for the program through August 29 at TripleDoubleAccelerator.NBA.com. Mentors for the program include leaders from NBA Africa, ServiceNow, ALX, and other corporate partners.

Clare Akamanzi, CEO of NBA Africa, stated that the program demonstrates the talent, passion, and creativity among African entrepreneurs. In a press release, she said, "We are excited to see the innovative ideas and solutions that African startups bring to the table, and we are proud to support their growth and development through this program."

Last year's program was backed by ServiceNow and managed by ALX Ventures. Four prize-winning startups - Festival Coins, Salubata, HustleSasa, and UBR VR - were selected after Demo Day at NBA HQ in New York City.

The 10-week accelerator, managed by ALX Ventures, a pan-African incubator, will end with a Demo Day in December, where the top five startups will receive financial support and ongoing mentorship. Details about this year's Demo Day will be announced later in the year.

The program supports early-stage startups across Africa building solutions in sports (fan engagement, athlete performance, digital innovation, fitness, etc.) and creative industries (fashion, music, film, gaming, digital media, storytelling). The mentorship program focuses on product development, business growth, and go-to-market strategies.

In summary, the NBA Africa Triple-Double Accelerator 2025 program fosters growth and investment-readiness in promising African startups in sports and creativity by providing funding, mentorship, and access to a powerful ecosystem of business leaders and investors. Don't miss out on this opportunity to take your startup to the next level. Apply today at TripleDoubleAccelerator.NBA.com before August 29.
