Renovation work is underway on the Moer line
In the heart of Moers, a significant construction project is underway. The focus of the work is on Meerstraße, where renovations to the energy and water network, as well as the installation of new electricity, gas, and water lines, are set to take place.
Starting from August 18, the third construction phase will begin in Meerstraße. During this period, regular traffic on the street will be closed, and workers will operate in a staggered manner in the two traffic lanes. However, the inner courtyard of the residential complex 'Am Schlosspark' will remain accessible via the Meerstraße.
Residents and emergency services can use the remaining lane and half of the parking lot in both directions. Unfortunately, the charging stations in the Meerstraße will be out of service during the construction.
The construction is expected to last until November, and there may be disruptions during the daytime throughout the duration of the work. It's important to note that these disruptions will continue during the construction in Haagstraße, which will follow the work in Meerstraße.
Diane Schiffer, the project manager for the construction, has been overseeing the project. City representatives and the fire department were involved in the planning of the construction to ensure the safety and convenience of the community.
For any questions or concerns, the Enni construction site telephone (02841 104-600) is available. All directly affected residents have been informed in writing about the construction work.
Once the construction in Meerstraße is complete, Enni will start the final construction phase in the Haagstraße. During this phase, one of the current traffic lanes will be closed at a time. New house connections will be provided for adjacent houses as needed.
As always, we encourage residents to stay informed and patient during this time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve our city's infrastructure.
Firefighters may need to navigate the temporary traffic situation on Meerstraße due to the ongoing construction, utilizing the remaining lane and half of the parking lot in both directions. The construction teams, including those working on the third phase starting August 18, may leverage technology in the form of efficient planning and coordination tools to ensure the project stays on schedule and maintains the safety of the community.
