Remote Position: WordPress Technical Writer
Strategy11, a renowned WordPress software company known for its popular plugins Formidable Forms and WP Tasty, is currently seeking a skilled WordPress Technical Writer for a full-time, remote position. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and improving high-quality, clear, and informative content aimed at WordPress users and developers. Key responsibilities include developing new documentation, enhancing existing user guides, writing easy-to-understand technical tutorials with step-by-step visuals, updating blog posts related to product features and releases, and collaborating closely with developers and the support team. The role also supports marketing content needs to help the company’s growth ([1],[3]).
To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
- Technical Writing and Editing Skills: The candidate should write well-structured, high-quality, accurate technical content with impeccable grammar and spelling in a conversational tone, and edit and proofread their own work to prevent errors.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to writing, editing, and proofreading is expected.
- Basic HTML Understanding: Familiarity with fundamental HTML for web content is required.
- Image Editing: The candidate should be able to efficiently take screenshots, resize and crop images, add text, borders, or other elements, compress images, and upload and format them in WordPress so they are clear, useful, and look good. Experience with Snagit is a plus.
- SEO Knowledge: The candidate should have a solid understanding of SEO best practices and experience optimizing web content.
- Advanced WordPress Experience: The job requires understanding of WordPress to explain complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand content.
- Time Management: The candidate should be able to juggle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize their work effectively to meet all deadlines.

- Prior Remote Work Experience (preferred): Experience working effectively in a remote team setting is preferred. The candidate should be available to participate in weekly meetings between 9 AM - 5 PM MDT.
- Research Capabilities: The candidate should be able to research complex technical topics independently and thoroughly.
In addition, bonus points will be given for a genuine enjoyment for both writing and technical implementation, a portfolio of relevant documentation or technical content, experience with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Linear, or HelpScout, and prior experience with working for a fast-growing bootstrapped company.
The WordPress Technical Writer will join the product team and be responsible for creating and improving documentation, as well as creating new content.
