Regensburg's New PV Carport System Aims to Power County's Electricity Needs

Regensburg County Administration has launched a new photovoltaic carport system on its parking lot. The 156 kWp system, opened by local officials and KERL representatives, is designed to meet the county's electricity needs and supports regional sustainability efforts.

KERL, a regional energy provider, emphasizes the use of sealed areas for renewable energy projects. The new carport system is the second major project by KERL in 2025, following a 135 kWp photovoltaic system on the Realschule Regenstauf roof. Both projects aim to strengthen regional value creation and supply the economy with sustainable news.

The new carport system will provide environmentally friendly and cost-effective electricity to the administrative building. It avoids overproduction, relieves networks, and saves costs for network expansion, contributing to a citizen-friendly energy transition.

The new PV carport system at the Landratsamt Regensburg, along with another large project by KERL, marks significant progress in the region's renewable energy initiatives in 2025. These projects can be identified online by searching for 'Neue PV-Carportanlage am Landratsamt Regensburg' and references to KERL Projekt GmbH's 2025 activities.
