Refreshed iPadOS 26 presents enhancements to Apple's revamped iPad multitasking environment
In a recent update, Apple Inc. has rolled out iPadOS 26, introducing a new feature called "Apps in Full-Screen Mode". This update marks the replacement of the previous "Off" setting, aiming to enhance the user experience by making multitasking more efficient.
"Apps in Full-Screen Mode" is designed to start each app in its full-screen view by default. This means that when you open an app, it will automatically take up the entire screen, providing a distraction-free environment for focused work or play.
Switching between full-screen apps in this mode is made simple. You can drag your finger horizontally from the bottom centre of the screen, or use the keyboard shortcut Fn/Globe + right/left arrow keys. Alternatively, you can swipe horizontally with at least three fingers on the trackpad.
The functionality of "Apps in Full-Screen Mode" is similar to the previous "Off" setting, offering users a familiar experience with the added benefit of convenience. Whether you prefer using a touch screen or a trackpad, iPadOS 26 provides multiple options to switch between apps, ensuring a smooth multitasking experience.
With the introduction of "Apps in Full-Screen Mode", iPadOS 26 promises to make multitasking on your iPad more intuitive and efficient, making it easier than ever to switch between your favourite apps and get things done.
