Hyte Announces Price Reduction on Select PC Cases

Hyte, a popular PC case manufacturer, has announced a price reduction on several of its products, bringing prices back to pre-tariff levels following a tentative trade deal between the US and China. The affected cases include the Y40, Y60, Y70, and Y70 Touch Infinite.

The Y70 Touch Infinite, in particular, sees a notable reduction of $40, although it still remains $20 more expensive than at the start of the year. Unfortunately, this price reduction does not apply to all Hyte cases. Licensed models and some specialty cases, such as the Silver Wolf and Person 3 Reload Y70, will continue to be sold at their original prices due to manufacturing processes.

The pricing status of the Revolt 3 SFF case, X50, and X50 Air remains unclear, as they have not been explicitly mentioned in the price rollback. These models, which were recently introduced at Computex 2025, may see a price reduction in the future.

Hyte has been impacted by import taxes earlier this year, causing a halt in shipments to U.S. customers. Despite the recent trade deal, tariffs on both sides still remain, and Hyte cannot absorb the 145% tariff imposed on Chinese goods as the company only earns a 5% profit from its sales. As a result, Hyte is considering moving its production to Vietnam or Thailand, but this move would jack up the price of its products by about 30% to 40%.

A 25% tariff on aluminum, a key material used in Hyte's cases, would further increase the cost of raw materials, making Hyte's cases uncompetitive in the market.

In summary, the Y40, Y60, Y70, and Y70 Touch Infinite cases will see lower prices, starting today. However, not all Hyte cases will receive a price drop, with licensed models and some specialty cases remaining at higher prices. The pricing status of the Revolt 3 SFF case, X50, and X50 Air is currently unknown, and it remains to be seen whether they will be included in the price reduction.

  1. The reduction in prices for the Y40, Y60, Y70, and Y70 Touch Infinite cases can potentially impact the finance of businesses that rely on Hyte's products, as lower prices may increase demand.
  2. As Hyte weighs the option of moving production from China to Vietnam or Thailand, the anticipated increase in cost could impact not only the company's business operations but also the financial aspect of the technology industry, as it may lead to a rise in prices for Hyte's products.
