Qualys Bolsters Policy Compliance for Hybrid Database Security
Qualys has bolstered its Policy Compliance tool with enhanced features for database security and compliance. The updates aim to simplify monitoring and assessment of database assets in hybrid IT environments.
The new global IT asset inventory helps identify assets with databases running in hybrid environments and systems lacking Qualys Cloud Agent activation. Organizations can now perform database queries for compliance audits using host-based authentication methods, ensuring only authorized systems access audit data. Microsoft Purview facilitates secure searching and monitoring of audit logs.
Qualys Policy Compliance now offers real-time visibility and quick insights into database assets' compliance posture through enhanced dashboards and a posture tab. The tool supports assessment for various database technologies, automating the process from asset identification to assessment and reporting.
The Compliance Option Profile now includes OS-based instance data collection for supported databases using underlying OS-based authentication records. Users can create user-defined controls for databases and search for OS-dependent database controls under the Controls Search tab. Additionally, database assessment via Qualys Cloud Agent is now possible for OS-dependent database controls without logging into the database.
Qualys Policy Compliance's updates provide organizations with improved visibility and control over their database assets' compliance posture. The tool now offers more automated and secure methods for assessing and monitoring databases in hybrid IT environments, simplifying the process for IT teams.
