Pronto Secures $11 Million in Series A Funding for Expansion of 10-Minute Home Services

Staff India News: Pronto Secures $11 Million in Series A Funding to Revolutionize Urban Household Services in India

Pronto, a real-time household help platform founded by Anjali Sardana in 2024, has raised $11 million in a Series A funding round co-led by General Catalyst and Glade Brook Capital, with Bain Capital Ventures (BCV) also participating.

The funding round positions Pronto as a key player in redefining urban household services in India, aiming to address inefficiencies in the largely informal domestic help sector. The company aims to establish a novel infrastructure layer for domestic help, offering reliability for users and predictable income for workers.

Neeraj Arora, Managing Director at General Catalyst, believes Pronto is creating a unique infrastructure layer for domestic help, stating, "Pronto is architecting an entirely new layer of urban infrastructure for household help." Paul Hudson, Founder and CIO at Glade Brook Capital, praises Pronto for building stakeholder trust and customer delight through operational excellence and speed.

Ajay Agarwal, Partner at Bain Capital Ventures, notes that Pronto has proven its model can scale in just a few months. He adds, "We are excited to support Pronto's mission to create a more efficient and reliable ecosystem for domestic help in India."

The investment will be used to strengthen Pronto's quality-assurance systems and real-time operational technology to support its shift-based delivery model. Pronto plans to use the funds to expand its operations beyond its Gurgaon base to major metros like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and others over the next 12-18 months.

Pronto operates on a hub-and-spoke delivery model, with hyperlocal hubs located in residential clusters. These hubs serve as centralized locations for recruiting, training, and managing the workforce. Pronto directly recruits, trains, schedules, and manages its workforce, guaranteeing predictable income for workers and consistent service quality for customers.

In addition to the expansion, Pronto plans to onboard and train 10,000 additional trained, background-verified workers, enhancing workforce resilience and quality assurance. The company's shift-based model offers instant, vetted help and elevates worker earnings.

With this funding, Pronto's model aims to address inefficiencies in India's domestic help sector by offering reliability for users and predictable income for workers. The company's success demonstrates the potential for tech-driven solutions to transform traditional industries and improve the lives of both customers and workers.
