Peter McKelvy Launches Northern Re for Casualty Reinsurance Securitization
Peter McKelvy, a seasoned product leader and entrepreneur, has recently co-founded Northern Re, an alternative asset group focusing on securitizing risk in the casualty reinsurance space. Based in New York and the Cayman Islands, Northern Re aims to deliver effective solutions in the industry.
Before establishing Northern Re, McKelvy held prominent roles at various startups. He was a product leader at Uber, where he established and led the Driver Compliance organization, growing it from a concept to multiple engineering teams across several offices. Prior to that, he led product and propelled revenue growth from $0 to $100 million in just three years at Boost Insurance.
McKelvy's impressive academic background includes a cum laude graduation from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is also licensed as a director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
Previously, McKelvy co-founded WeWork with Adam Neumann, with the company's headquarters located in New York City. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Park Agency, the Kennedy family office, demonstrating his commitment to various roles and responsibilities.
McKelvy is dedicated to philanthropic efforts, volunteering with groups such as Best Buddies and RFK Human Rights. At Northern Re, he is responsible for the company's financial strategy and developing a modern tech stack to drive evolution in the space.
