OM System Expands Astro Camera Availability to Australia, Europe, and UK
OM System has expanded the availability of its OM-D E-M1 Mark III Astro camera, initially exclusive to Japan, now reaching Australia, Europe, and the UK. The camera, priced at £1,899 / AU$3,199, includes two new filters and unique astrophotography features.
The OM System OM-D E-M1 Mark III Astro is not merely an IR-filtered camera. It boasts computational features like Starry Sky AF and High Res Shot, making it stand out in astrophotography. The camera's specialized IR cut filter enhances the transmittance of Hα rays, resulting in vivid images with a strong reddish cast, perfect for capturing nebulae that emit light from Hα rays.
The camera's unique handheld Starry Sky AF mode is a boon for astrophotographers. The OM System E-M1 Mark III Astro Kit, available directly from OM System, comes with two new body filters: the BMF-LPC01 Light Pollution Reduction Filter and BMF-SE01 Soft Focus Filter. While the release in the US is not yet confirmed, OM Digital Solutions Europe GmbH will handle distribution in European and British markets.
