NVIDIA & G42 Launch Climate Tech Lab in Abu Dhabi for AI-Driven Weather Predictions

NVIDIA and G42 have joined forces to tackle climate change, announcing a new Climate Tech Lab in Abu Dhabi. The collaboration, led by NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang and G42's CEO Peng Xiao, aims to harness AI for accurate climate predictions.

The lab will build on NVIDIA's Earth-2 platform, using AI to enhance climate and weather simulations. It will utilise over 100 petabytes of geophysical data assets to create tailored solutions.

The initial project focuses on developing a high-resolution weather forecasting model, aiming for a square-kilometre resolution. This will significantly improve prediction accuracy, driving change across industries and ecosystems.

Peng Xiao, group CEO of G42, expressed the initiative's goal to apply AI to global challenges, fostering a sustainable future. Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, stated that the collaboration will predict climate phenomena with unprecedented accuracy.

The new Climate Tech Lab in Abu Dhabi is set to accelerate climate and weather predictions with AI. G42 and NVIDIA's partnership aims to deliver real-world applicable climate solutions, combining scientific accuracy with practical use.
