Nio's July car deliveries climb by 2.53% compared to the previous year, totaling 21,017 vehicles.

Nio Onvo, the electric vehicle (EV) brand under Nio Inc, has launched its flagship SUV, the L90, on July 31, 2025. The company aims to deliver over 10,000 L90 units in August 2025, operating its Hefei factory at full capacity and working overtime to meet this target.

Initial deliveries quickly reached nearly 2,000 units in the first 72 hours, making the L90 a top-selling large SUV in China early on. The strong demand for the L90 has resulted in wait times stretching from an initial 4-6 weeks to 8-10 weeks for customers placing new orders.

The L90's starting price is RMB 265,800, including an 85-kWh battery pack. This is a further reduction of RMB 14,100 from the previously competitive pre-sales price.

The L90's launch is a strategic move for Nio Inc to maintain its market presence and compete in the growing EV market in China. The high demand for the L90 has significantly stretched delivery timelines, with more than 58,000 locked-in orders reported nationwide, with about 50,000 expected to wait 5-7 weeks beyond August deliveries. Onvo introduced a "Waiting Points" customer program to mitigate goodwill loss due to delivery delays.

The August delivery volume of over 10,000 L90 units is significant because it represents a major launch volume for Nio’s Onvo sub-brand and contributes meaningfully to Nio Inc's overall sales and growth goals. The L90’s strong start and delivery scale are viewed as key milestones toward Nio achieving its first quarterly profit in Q4 2025.

In July, Nio Inc delivered 21,017 vehicles, a decrease of 6.63 percent from June. Despite the decrease, the delivery in July represents a 2.53 percent increase from the same month last year. The L90's launch, along with deliveries of Firefly and Onvo vehicles, brought Nio Inc's cumulative deliveries since September 2024 to 58,599 vehicles.

The L90 launch marks the expansion of Nio's product line under the Onvo sub-brand. In the first seven months of the year, Nio Inc delivered 135,167 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 25.24 percent. The company's main brand delivered 87,120 vehicles in January-July, down 19.28 percent year-on-year. Onvo delivered 5,976 vehicles in July, a decrease of 6.63 percent from June.

In summary, the Onvo L90's successful launch and planned delivery volume exceeding 10,000 units in August 2025 mark an important expansion for Nio Inc, although the high demand has stretched delivery timelines significantly.
