Deepal, a sub-brand of Changan Automobile, has launched the new long-range variant of its S05 SUV, offering both BEV and EREV options. The S05 SUV, which was introduced in October 2024, is priced lower than the previously introduced variants, with the starting price of the longest-range variant being RMB 129,900 compared to RMB 149,900 for the previous long-range variant.
The new long-range variant of the S05 SUV boasts a range of up to 620 kilometers based on CLTC testing. It is equipped with a CATL 3C lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling rapid charging from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes. The SUV retains a single rear-mounted electric motor delivering 175 kW of power and 320 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 180 km/h.
The interior of the S05 SUV features a 15.4-inch 2.5K resolution central control screen with Huawei HiCar smartphone connectivity and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip powering the vehicle's infotainment system. The SUV's dimensions are 4620 mm long, 1900 mm wide, and 1600 mm high, with a 2880 mm wheelbase, positioning it as a compact 5-seater SUV.
