NBA Revolutionizes Stats Platform with AWS for 2025 Season

The NBA is set to revolutionize its statistics platform, partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to introduce advanced metrics and real-time tracking. This new system, debuting in the 2025 NBA season, will make games more engaging and easier to follow, with exclusive games aired on Amazon's Prime Video.

AWS-branded stats will bring depth to debates with metrics like 'Defensive Box Score', 'Shot Difficulty', and 'Gravity'. These will provide insights into player and team performance that were previously unavailable.

The new platform, 'NBA Inside the Game', will be first used during the 2025 season. Julie Souza, Global Head of NBA at NBC Sports, will oversee its implementation. The platform combines Sony Hawk-Eye's real-time body tracking with AWS' advanced AI capabilities.

Amazon's Prime Video division will air exclusive NBA games for the first time this season, expanding its sports broadcasting portfolio. This multiyear deal also extends to the WNBA, with AWS becoming the official Cloud and Cloud AI Partner of both leagues.

The new stats platform, rolling out during the 2025-26 season, promises to enhance fan experience and provide deeper insights into the game. With AWS' advanced AI and real-time tracking, the NBA takes a significant step into the future of sports analytics.
