Navratri Boosts Sales, Drives Industry Growth Across India
Navratri, the Hindu festival, has brought a significant boost to various sectors this year. Major metros witnessed a 44% growth in sales compared to the national average of 25%.
The festive spirit was particularly strong in western and southern India, with Maharashtra and Karnataka leading the surge. In eastern India, Durga Puja saw sarees dominating orders, contributing 47%. Bracelets emerged as the top-selling item across all categories.
Cancellation rates dropped by 3.8 percentage points, while prepaid orders rose sharply in major cities. Maharashtra and Central India saw notable expansions, with PNG Jewellers opening new showrooms. Beauty and personal care, along with fashion and apparel, made up half of all festive revenue. Direct-to-consumer commerce surged by 25% year-over-year.

The festival has also led to increased consumer confidence, as evident in the rise in prepaid orders and average order values.
