National Highways Boosts Cybersecurity with £20m BAE Systems Deal

National Highways has fortified its cybersecurity awareness with a £20m extension to its alliance with BAE Systems. The three-year contract encompasses a range of services, including support for cybersecurity, data protection, and threat intelligence. This move is designed to safeguard England's road network from escalating digital threats.

BAE Systems will offer critical analysis on the future cyber landscape, concentrating on emerging technologies like autonomous vehicles and quantum computing. This will assist National Highways in staying ahead of potential threats and maintaining its cyber resilience.

Joseph (Joey) Hartmann, acting as the Technology Program Director at National Highways, will supervise this collaboration. Julia Thorne, National Highways' technology programmes director, expects that this partnership will facilitate the swift deployment of projects to counter evolving digital threats to critical national infrastructure.
