MTG Launches 'Gaming Village' With Midcore and Casual Districts, Goes Mobile-First
MTG is restructuring its gaming operations into a 'Gaming Village' with two divisions, effective January 2026. The Midcore District, led by Hendrik Klindworth as Executive Chairman, will focus on mid-core games, while the Casual District, built around Indian studio PlaySimple, will cater to casual gamers. Meanwhile, MTG is adopting a Mobile-First approach and leveraging AI to boost portfolio expansion.
The Midcore District will house mobile game acquisitions like Plarium, Futureplay, Snowprint, Hutch, Ninja Kiwi, and InnoGames. Plarium's CEO Schraga Mor is leaving, with MTG's former Chief Product Officer Oliver Bulloss taking over as CEO of the Midcore division. Hendrik Klindworth, co-founder and former CEO of InnoGames, will serve as Executive Chairman of the Midcore District.
MTG is also embracing a Mobile-First strategy, prioritizing smartphone and tablet development for new games. The company is utilizing artificial intelligence across various departments to aid in portfolio expansion. In other leadership changes, Christian Reshöft, previously the Chief Product Officer at InnoGames, will become the new CEO, effective October 1.
MTG's restructuring into a 'Gaming Village' aims to better focus on different gaming segments. The Midcore District, under Klindworth's leadership, and the Casual District, centered around PlaySimple, will each have their own CEO. MTG's commitment to Mobile-First development and AI integration signals a forward-thinking approach to gaming.
