Motorcycle manufacturer TVS reveals their latest 299 cc RTXD4 engine at the 2024 MotoSoul event.

TVS Motor Company has made a significant stride in the motorcycling world with the introduction of their new engine, the RTXD4 300. The unveiling took place at their annual MotoSoul festival in Goa.

The RTXD4 300 is a 299 cc, liquid-cooled mill, engineered to deliver high-speed performance while being accessible. One of the key features of this engine is its redesigned cam with a downdraft port, which TVS claims will make the engine very rev-happy.

The engine's power output is impressive, producing 34 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. It comes equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and features a ride-by-wire throttle control for precise acceleration.

The RTXD4 300 engine is packed with several 'Dual' technologies developed by TVS, such as dual oil pumps, a dual separator breather system, and split chamber crankcase and dual jacket chambers for efficient cooling. The cylinders are coated in plasma for smoother piston travel, and the engine also has a thermal management system onboard to ensure optimal performance.

The engine's technology doesn't stop there. It also features a DOHC setup (dual overhead camshaft), similar to many performance-oriented bikes like the KTM 390 Duke. Additionally, the RTXD4 300 engine's ride-by-wire technology may provide different ride modes, offering riders a customised riding experience.

The RTXD4 300 engine will also come with an assist and slipper clutch, making gear shifts smoother and quicker. However, the specific bike application for the RTXD4 300 engine is yet to be confirmed.

TVS currently has a strong presence in the 300 cc segment with models like the Apache RR and RTR. With the introduction of the RTXD4 300 engine, they are aiming to push the boundaries of performance and accessibility in this segment.

The motorcycle model powered by the RTXD4 300 engine, the TVS RTX 300, was unveiled at the MotoSoul festival. This model features a 299cc liquid-cooled RT-XD4 single-cylinder engine producing 35 PS@9000 rpm. More details about the TVS RTX 300 are expected to be revealed in the coming months.

With the RTXD4 300 engine, TVS has shown their commitment to innovation and performance in the motorcycling industry. The rev-happy engine promises an exhilarating riding experience, and we can't wait to see it in action.
