Moscow Startup Summit to host Demo Day event
The Moscow Startup Summit, organised by Sber and the Government of Moscow, is set to bring together venture capital players and innovative minds from across the globe. This year, the focus is on the sixth wave of the international accelerator programme, Sber500, which is dedicated to deeptech teams and startups utilising generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Out of over 1900 applications from 43 countries, only 150 startups were selected for the first stage, a bootcamp. This intensive online program serves as a qualifying round for the accelerator, allowing experts and mentors from Sber500 to better understand the teams and for startups to prepare for the next stage.
Interestingly, 48% of the startups in the pool are already leveraging generative AI, while nearly 40% of the applicants were deeptech teams. This demonstrates a growing trend towards AI-driven innovation.
The accelerator program offers a wealth of opportunities, including working with international mentors, experienced entrepreneurs, and specialists from leading tech corporations. The focus is on refining product strategy, developing scaling plans, improving financial models, optimising unit economics, learning to work with corporate clients, preparing for pilots, and honing negotiation and investment attraction skills.
After the bootcamp, 25 startups advanced to the accelerator stage. These teams will showcase their innovations at the Demo Day, which is part of the international Moscow Startup Summit. The Demo Day for the 25 graduates of the sixth wave will take place in October at the SberCity venue. The solutions of these startups will be showcased at the event, and the broadcast will be available on the summit's website.
The top 10 countries by the number of projects include Kazakhstan, Belarus, UAE, Uzbekistan, USA, China, India, Armenia, Germany, and Turkey. Participants in the bootcamp come from over 50 industries, including Smart City, FoodTech, MarTech, FinTech, HealthTech, and more.
At the Demo Day, strong teams will be showcasing their innovations for the future, paving the way for the growth of cutting-edge AI-driven innovations by connecting startups with industry leaders and facilitating their entry into the market.
