Monday, July 21 brings the debut of 'What You Need to Know', a new weekday news show jointly presented by ABC News and Disney+
Disney+, the streaming titan, has bolstered its content repertoire with the introduction of a fresh weekday news program called "What You Need to Know." This endeavor is a collaboration between Disney+ and ABC News, a prominent news source.
The show, which debuted on July 21, 2023, is now exclusively accessible on Disney+. It promises to deliver astute, bite-sized analysis on the stories that truly matter.
"What You Need to Know" is redefining what a news experience can be for Disney+ subscribers, according to Alisa Bowen, president of Disney+. The show aims to help viewers better comprehend the world around them, as stated by Almin Karamehmedovic, president of ABC News.
The show is anchored by chief international correspondent James Longman and senior political correspondent Rachel Scott. Each episode premieres at 6 a.m. ET and is available on demand on Disney+ for 24 hours.
"What You Need to Know" is part of ABC News' expansive platform that includes ABC News Studios, ABC News Digital, ABC Audio, NewsOne, and a 24/7 streaming channel ABC News Live. It is integrated into ABC News' Disney+ programming, featuring alongside "Good Morning America: First Look," "Prime with Linsey Davis," "World News Tonight with David Muir," and ABC News Live streaming news channel content.
Disney+ is the exclusive streaming home for the newest releases from The Walt Disney Studios. It also offers extensive Hulu and ESPN+ content, including next-day TV, Hulu and ESPN Originals, live sports events, and studio programming.
In select international markets, Disney+'s streaming service includes the general entertainment content brand, Star. ABC News, with multiple offices and an international presence, has bureaus in more than 20 countries around the world.
