On June 12, 2025, the creation of digital audio tours in the picturesque Hallertau region was officially initiated. The project, named "The Digital Hallertau Experience," is part of the LEADER program and receives €30,432 in support from the European LEADER funding program.

This ambitious project is a collaboration between four local action groups: LAG Landkreis Kelheim e.V., LAG Landkreis Landshut e.V., LAG Mittlere Isarregion e.V., and LAG Landkreis Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm e.V. The goal of the project is to create four digital audio tours accessible via smartphones, making culture, tradition, history, and hop farming accessible and engaging for both residents and tourists.

The audio tours will provide an immersive experience, offering insights into the rich history and traditions of the Hallertau region. Two digital city tours are planned for Wolnzach and Mainburg, while two digital bike tours will allow visitors to explore the region on two wheels. One bike tour will take riders from Rudelzhausen via Au i. d. Hallertau and Nandlstadt to Freising, while another will traverse the ILE Holledauer Tor region.

The digital offering aims to enhance, expand, and attract new target groups to the Hallertau experience. Agnes Stiglmaier, LEADER coordinator, and Tina Schuler, LAG manager, handed over the approval notice to Carolin Meinhold, project leader, emphasising the project's goal of creating engaging digital audio tours for tourists and residents.

Tina Schuler, manager of LAG Landkreis Pfaffenhofen, states that this funding creates a free leisure activity for everyone, making the Hallertau region more attractive and well-known. The digital audio tours are intended to make the Hallertau region more accessible and appealing, ensuring that its rich history, culture, and traditions are enjoyed by all.
