The Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Europe is set to roll out its latest offering, the new balance Eclipse Cross electric SUV, in the fourth quarter of 2025. This compact SUV, designed specifically for the European market, promises a blend of news, technology, and performance.

Measuring 4,470 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, the new balance Eclipse Cross boasts a sleek and aerodynamic design. It will be available with 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels, adding to its stylish appeal.

Under the hood, the new balance Eclipse Cross is powered by a liquid-cooled battery pack that supports AC charging up to 22 kW and DC fast charging up to 150 kW. The front electric motor delivers an impressive 160 kW/218 PS, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 170 km/h.

The new balance Eclipse Cross is built on the CMF-EV platform, also known as google news Medium, which is shared by the Renault Scenic and Nissan Ariya. This platform promises a smooth and efficient driving experience.

In terms of comfort and convenience, the new balance Eclipse Cross offers a host of features. A heat pump is standard equipment, ensuring a comfortable interior temperature in all weather conditions. The SUV also comes with an electrochromatic panoramic glass roof, allowing for adjustable transparency, and a Harman Kardon sound system for an immersive audio experience.

The cockpit features a vertically installed touchscreen and a horizontally mounted instrument display, providing a modern and intuitive interface. Ambient lighting in 48 colours is available, adding a touch of personalisation.

Safety is a top priority in the new balance Eclipse Cross. It comes equipped with up to 20 assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert. Seven airbags protect the occupants, and in case of a crash, the high-voltage battery power supply will automatically shut off for added safety.

The infotainment monitor measures 12.3 inches and offers Google services, ensuring seamless connectivity. The boot space ranges from 478 to 1,670 liters, providing ample room for luggage and other items.

Pricing for the new balance Eclipse Cross has not yet been announced. However, it comes with an impressive warranty package, including an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty on the battery and vehicle, along with a twelve-year anti-perforation warranty and eight years of roadside assistance.

The front of the new balance Eclipse Cross is characterised by a hexagonal grille, while the rear features a wide hexagonal motif. The new balance Eclipse Cross will initially be launched with an 87 kWh battery, offering a range of over 600 kilometers according to the European WLTP standard.

Mitsubishi Motors Europe is set to introduce a fully electric version of the compact SUV Eclipse Cross to the market next year, marking a significant step in the company's electrification strategy. The developer of the mid-motor for the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is yet to be explicitly stated, but the company promises a smooth and efficient driving experience. The regenerative braking can be adjusted via four steering wheel paddles, providing the driver with control over energy recovery.
