Microsoft Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Customized Crocs
Microsoft has stirred up excitement with an unusual announcement. The tech giant has leaked news of customized Crocs, inspired by its own history, to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Microsoft has a track record of releasing quirky, popular items. In the past, it has given away ugly Christmas sweaters, which have proven to be a hit among fans. This time, the company has found a way to make Crocs even uglier, using its own software.
The Crocs, revealed on Wednesday, are inspired by recognizable moments from Microsoft's history. They feature 'Jibbitz charms' resembling icons like the Internet Explorer browser and the Office Assistant 'Clippy'. The design also pays homage to the Windows XP desktop wallpaper. Unlike Microsoft's usual products, these Crocs are not for sale. Instead, a competition on Instagram is the only way to obtain a pair.
Microsoft's fashion collection, which also includes a drawstring bag inspired by the Windows XP Bliss backdrop, is a side hustle for the tech giant. Despite not having a partnership with Crocs or a confirmed sale date, the leaked news of these customized Crocs has generated buzz and anticipation among Microsoft fans.
