Mesa/Boogie Reissues Iconic Mark IIC+ HRG Guitar Amp Head
Mesa/Boogie has reintroduced the Mark IIC+ HRG, a 100-watt guitar amp head, priced at £3,549/$3,599. This reissue, overseen by Doug West, Director of Tone Lab at Gibson Amplifiers and Mesa/Boogie, offers high headroom and comprehensive EQ control, appealing to experienced players.
The Mark IIC+ HRG features four 6L6 tubes in the power section and five 12AX7s in the preamp, along with a silicon rectifier. It offers footswitchable control over Rhythm and Lead modes, providing versatility for different playing styles.
The amp is paired with a Celestion C90 speaker for easy transport and compatibility with other compact Boogie rigs. It also includes a tube-driven series effects loop, suitable for pedalboards. Mesa/Boogie has also reissued the Thiele 1x12 speaker cabinet to match the Mark IIC+ HRG, available in Wicker or black Bronco Grille cloth for £724/$799. The cabinet features a sealed and ported design, delivering massive low end and a tight, punchy sound.
The Mark IIC+ HRG, with its historical significance and comprehensive features, is a welcome reissue for experienced guitarists. The amp's high headroom, comprehensive EQ control, and compatibility with the reissued Thiele 1x12 cabinet make it a powerful addition to any rig.
