The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Mercedes-Benz prepares to electrify its best-selling model, the GLC. Set to debut at the IAA Mobility in September, the new GLC will mark a significant step in Mercedes-Benz's largest product offensive in history.

Mercedes CEO, Ola Källenius, has confirmed that the new GLC will celebrate its premiere at this year's IAA, promising a blend of comfort, dynamics, efficiency, and intelligence. The new GLC will be available in both electric and combustion engine versions, catering to a wide range of customer preferences.

The electric GLC is expected to hit the markets next year, and sales are anticipated to soar, given the GLC's status as the strongest-selling model of Mercedes-Benz. The mid-size SUV is set to convince customers as an electric vehicle in the future, electrifying Mercedes-Benz's bestseller.

Under the hood, the new GLC will run on the new electric vehicle platform for mid-size vehicles, MB.EA. This platform will enable the electric GLC to offer up to 360 kW (489 PS) of power and an impressive WLTP range of up to 700 kilometers at launch.

The new GLC will differ technically from its combustion engine counterpart, relying on the MB.EA (Mercedes-Benz Electric Architecture) for its electric version. An AMG version of the new electric GLC is considered a sure bet as the top model, promising a thrilling driving experience.

The upcoming electric GLC may also feature a base battery with more affordable LFP chemistry in the future, making it an attractive option for those seeking an electric SUV without breaking the bank.

Thanks to an 800-volt system, around 260 kilometers of range can be added to the new GLC in just ten minutes, ensuring quick and efficient charging. The new GLC will also boast a new design language, state-of-the-art technology, and Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS operating system.

Images from winter testing and a video with Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius offer a first glimpse of the new electric GLC, generating anticipation among automotive enthusiasts worldwide. The official presentation of the new electric GLC is described as the "highlight of this year's show" by Mercedes-Benz, promising a groundbreaking reveal.
