Major Darknet Child Abuse Platform 'KidFlix' Shut Down in Global Operation
A major international operation, 'OP Stream', has led to numerous arrests and the shutdown of a notorious Darknet platform, 'KidFlix', which streamed videos of child abuse. Coordinated by Europol, the operation involved 38 countries and resulted in significant seizures and the identification of suspects worldwide.
The operation, which ran from March 10 to 23, 2025, targeted 'KidFlix', a platform that required cryptocurrency payments for access to its extensive library of over 91,000 videos, totaling 6,288 hours of content. The platform's server, hosting around 72,000 videos, was seized on March 11, 2025, with the help of Dutch authorities.
Investigations revealed that 'KidFlix' had approximately 1,800,000 registered users and 1,393 suspects worldwide. In Germany, the LKA Niedersachsen played a crucial role in coordinating the efforts, leading to several arrests. On January 24, 2025, a 30-year-old man was arrested for viewing child pornographic material on the platform. Earlier, in mid-January 2024, a 36-year-old man was arrested for seeking children for sexual abuse on 'KidFlix'. Raids in Lower Saxony on March 10 resulted in the seizure of 201 exhibits, including a child sex doll and incapacitants.
The successful conclusion of 'OP Stream' has dealt a significant blow to the dark web's child sexual exploitation ecosystem. The operation has led to the dismantling of 'KidFlix' and the identification of a large number of suspects worldwide. The collaboration among international law enforcement agencies, led by Europol, has once again demonstrated the power of global cooperation in the fight against online child sexual abuse.
