Lufthansa Unveils 100th Anniversary Boeing 787-9
Lufthansa has unveiled an exclusive special livery on a Boeing 787-9 to mark its 100th anniversary. The aircraft, with registration D-ABPU, will operate regularly on international routes from December 2025.
The livery, designed by Otto Firle in 1918, features the traditional crane emblem of Lufthansa. The crane rises from a deep blue fuselage and blends into the wings of the Dreamliner. The anniversary number '100' and the years '1926 / 2026' are inscribed on the aircraft.
The Boeing 787-9 will officially join the Lufthansa fleet at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in November 2025. This is part of a larger program celebrating Lufthansa's 100th anniversary. Lufthansa is also working on new service concepts and passenger experiences for the anniversary.
The Boeing 787-9 with the special anniversary livery will enter service in December 2025, operating regularly on international routes. This aircraft is a symbol of Lufthansa's rich history and its exciting future as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.
