Lufthansa Technik Lands Major Cathay Group Deal: 72 Aircraft Maintenance Contract

Lufthansa Technik has secured a significant contract with Cathay Pacific. The deal, worth over one-third of Cathay's fleet, involves the maintenance of 72 aircraft, including 20 Boeing 747 freighters and 52 Boeing 777s. This six-year agreement, starting in October 2025, marks a new milestone in the partnership between the two aviation giants.

The service package, to be handled on a power-by-the-hour basis, aims to optimize fleet availability and cost efficiency for Cathay Pacific. Lufthansa Technik will manage the repair and overhaul of components for all Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 fleets in Hong Kong exclusively for the next six years. Keith Brown, Director of Engineering at Cathay, expressed confidence in Lufthansa Technik's capabilities. Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, described the contract signing as a highlight of the year.

The contract, signed between Lufthansa Technik and Cathay Pacific, covers the maintenance of 72 aircraft. This deal underscores the trust in Lufthansa Technik's services and is set to enhance fleet availability and cost efficiency for Cathay Pacific over the next six years.
