Law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas selects Legora as it aims to establish itself as an "AI-centric company"
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM), one of India's leading law firms, has announced a significant partnership with AI legal assistant platform, Legora. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in CAM's ambition to become an AI-first law firm, integrating advanced AI deeply into legal and business operations to enhance efficiency, quality, and client value while maintaining data security and confidentiality.
The partnership follows a rigorous pilot involving 380 lawyers testing three AI platforms for usability, interoperability, accuracy, and responsiveness on real-world legal tasks. This demonstrates CAM’s careful and data-driven approach to adopting AI.
Empowering Lawyers and Redefining Legal Work Processes
The collaboration with Legora empowers lawyers with intelligent, AI-driven tools to elevate the quality and speed of legal services. It also embeds AI into the core workflow of the firm through co-creation and responsible innovation, moving beyond simple tool adoption to fundamentally redefining legal work processes.
A Leading Example in India's Legal Sector
This partnership serves as a leading example in India, signalling a significant step forward in AI integration within the Indian legal sector. It could potentially encourage other firms to explore similar technologies.
Custom Development of AI Features
Legora’s agentic Workflows, a custom-developed AI feature, will be integrated into CAM’s operations to tackle complex legal tasks. This collaborative approach between the law firm and AI provider aims to solve practical challenges.
Building the Future of Legal Services
The decision to partner with Legora is not just about selecting a product, but about building the future of legal services through deep collaboration, co-creation, and responsible innovation.
Max Junestrand, CEO of Legora, commented on the selection, highlighting the unrivaled value Legora delivers and the expansion into the Indian market.
Firm-Wide Implementation and Co-Development
The partnership between CAM and Legora will involve firm-wide implementation, solving use cases, automating workflows, and co-developing AI-powered client solutions.
Rishabh Shroff, a partner at CAM, sees AI as an essential part of the future of legal practice. He believes that generative AI is a foundational shift for the legal profession.
In January, CAM conducted a multi-phase pilot program involving three generative AI platforms and 380 lawyers across its offices. Other law firms, such as Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, which has partnered with AI legal assistant Harvey, and Economic Laws Practice (ELP), which has partnered with Vecflow to integrate AI Legal Assistant Oliver into its work, are also exploring AI integration.
