BYD's European Expansion: A New Hub in Hungary 🇭🇺

It appears the executive at BYD has suggested that the company's European Centre will likely be established in Hungary.

Get ready, Europe! Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD is about to set up shop in Hungary, according to a recent announcement by its chairman Wang Chuanfu at a press conference with Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This new hub is going to be the beating heart of three main operations: sales and customer service, testing, and model development for local markets.

The location of this badass new center? Right smack in the center of Budapest's bustling 11th district, near the Danube River—a strategic location that puts it right at the heart of the city's transport and industrial action.

This hub is expected to create a whopping 2,000 jobs, giving Hungary's economy a solid boost and solidifying the country's growing role as a hub for EV and battery production. With existing investments from Chinese manufacturers like BYD, Hungary's future looks bright!

BYD already has a presence in Hungary, having opened its first European factory in Komarom back in 2016. A second plant is currently under construction, and construction on the new European hub is expected to start soon.

With their plans to sell half of their vehicles abroad by 2030 and their recent success surpassing Volkswagen as the leading automaker in China, this expansion could just be the next big step for BYD's global domination. So, keep an eye out for these electric powerhouses hitting the streets of Europe!
